Porthmadog Coastal Town is close to Greenacers Holiday Park and makes a great day out.
This stunning beach located near Greenacres and can be visited and enjoyed all year round. Don’t be fooled by the name, ‘Black Rock Sands’ this beach is far from dark. This beautiful sandy beach is named after the west side of the beach which is full of rock pools, caves, and headland rock.
Parking and Accessibility: Accessibility to the beach is easy and flat. There is disabled access and public transport nearby. Unlike other beaches here you can park on the beach and enjoy picnics from your car. There are nearby public toilets which include a disabled facility. This location is the perfect opportunity to pack up a tasty picnic, grab some buckets and spades and have a fun filled afternoon out. There are no lifeguards who cover this area. Dog restrictions are in place and only part of the beach allows dogs on it. Please look out for the signage.
With ice cream and burger vans located near the beach and a park shop selling beach toys, beach clothing and gifts…you can buy and plan when you arrive! Greenacres, Porthmadog has everything that you need for a perfect family day out.
Less than a mile away from the park are a range of fantastic restaurants and takeaway shops. Including but not limited to: Black Rock Sands Café and Shenanigans Bar, Jephanies Pizzeria, Mash and Barrel and Breaktimes. We highly recommend Mash and Barrel’s famous Lasagne with a side of garlic bread!
All staff lovely and working so hard (table service in bars due to COVID). Couldn’t fault the caravan. The location is fantastic. The beach is fabulous and even has toilets, a burger van and ice cream van. You can also drive your car on to it for £5. Beach is dog friendly on one side, so look out for the signs of taking your pooch. The park was spotless. Great holiday, we’ll deffo be back”
“Good stay at the park, had a nice big deluxe caravan with an outside decking area which was great as we had 2 dogs. We were close to the beach which was lovely & we spent a lot of time in the beach as we were lucky enough to have some lovely weather”
This year has been a record year for Holidays in the UK Next year is expected to be even better.
